The 2016 CrossFit Games came to a close this past Sunday celebrating their 10th event anniversary. We are honored to have two of our athletes, who are also cousins, qualify to participate in the inaugural event: Taylor Dresher and Sam Dancer.
Taylor Drescher qualified with the CrossFit CDR Redlands team out of Southern California. The team’s goal going into the CrossFit Games was to place in the top 10 in the world and after 16 grueling events CrossFit CDR Redlands took 7th overall. You can see how they performed on each event here or watch them competing here.
Sam Dancer qualified from the Central Regional as an individual to compete at the CrossFit Games. After suffering a fibula injury in the first CrossFit Games event Sam decided to fight all the way to the end. After 15 events he placed 32nd overall and even took home a 1st place finish on event 2. Watch a recap of the Event 2 – Ranch Deadlift ladder here. Full leaderboard results can be found here.
We are very proud to have each of these athletes as a part of Team HMB. They both gave their best performance this past week and showed true sportsmanship and poise through the whole event.
