Hello HMB Friends! I decided to write my first blog about the way I start every day.. with a healthy Breakfast, of course! If you read my interview (which I am sure you did) you saw I make a special protein waffle recipe. Growing up, my mom always made us a big breakfast, sometimes for dinner too! So I think of waffles, pancakes, oatmeal and even cream of wheat as comfort foods. I have always been a breakfast eater and can’t imagine starting the day hungry. Instead of just egg whites and oatmeal, I had to find a way to LOVE my breakfast and use it as energy to fuel my workout, as it is also my pre-workout meal. So here you have it:
3 Egg Whites
1 Whole Egg
1/3 Cup Instant Oats (dry/uncooked)
¼ scoop of protein powder (I prefer cinnamon flavored)
Tons of Cinnamon (yes Tons is a proper measurement)
A few drops of Vanilla Stevia and a Squirt of Maple Extract
Blend using a small mixer/blender
Spray a waffle iron with non-stick spray and ENJOY!!!
This makes 2 perfect Belgian Waffles.
During Prep I will eat them plain, but you can also get even more creative and top them with fruit, peanut butter, honey or sugar free syrup. Send me your feedback and how you customized your protein waffles. Savor every bite and don’t forget your HMB to start your day off right.
