Q&A: Squat Form

Blog Article ImageQuestion: “When I go heavy on squats I notice my knees tend to bend in on the way up.  Any ideas on how to fix this?”

This could be a symptom of weak glutes, adductors, and/or hamstrings or simply trying to squat too heavy too soon.  I would back off on the weight and develop a good base of strength before trying to go too heavy. This can be accomplished by establishing a good training plan that will gradually increase your training intensity. I would also incorporate some additional exercises to strengthen the glutes and hamstrings like glute/hamstring raises, deadlifts, Romanian deadlifts, and leg curls.
