Continue to myHMB.comMy training is going very well, I am starting my 6th week of prep in hope to obtain a pro 3 peat at the Heartland of America show and qualifying for the Natural Olympia. I thought today I would talk a little bit about my diet. I started my prep diet following these macros. I have 5 low days per week and 2 high days per week.
Low Days 285 p, 335 c, 70 f 3,110 calories
High Days 270 p, 635 c, 60 f 4,160 calories
I have tapered it down slowly over the last 5 weeks. I started out weighing 227 lbs. and I am now weighing 218 lbs. I just started doing 1 HIIT session per week, for a total of 15 minutes, working out in gym 5 days per week. My numbers now are this:
Low Days 285 p, 305 c, 70 f 2,990 calories
High Days 270 p, 540 c, 60 f 3,780 calories
So as you can see, in 5 weeks, I have dropped 9 lbs. without cardio and still am eating at least 3,000 calories a day!
I wanted to talk a little about this simply because I see people all the time in the gym and posting on Facebook and other places about their "diets" they are on and how they are doing cardio for 1 hour a day and only eating 1,800 calories. That is insane! Stop the madness. To coin a phrase from a trainer I know well "YOLO" most of you think that stands for “you only live once”. When it comes to “YOLO” stands for “you’re only lean once”. Sure those "diets" work to lose weight but they screw up your metabolism and as soon as you start eating normal, you gain it all back. Eat smart; eat the right foods at the right time.
