Continue to myHMB.comI’ve seen it time and time again. Usually, the things that are holding people back from living a fit life are their own excuses.
I have heard a ton of excuses, (and admittedly used a few of them myself), I’m tired, I have to be somewhere after work, I’ve got too much to do, I don’t have a gym membership, I’m too old, my knee hurts, my leg hurts, healthy food is too expensive…you get the picture and I could go on.
I caught myself making one the other day and stopped what I was doing. I thought to myself that it was ridiculous I had even thought of making that excuse. What it boils down to is that if you don’t want to make yourself a priority then your own health will eventually suffer. You may have something to do after work, but why not get up an hour earlier then? Aiming for a 20-30 minute workout on your busiest days is a way to boost your energy first thing in the morning and ensure you squeeze your workout in. It’s important to plan ahead. If there is ever a day where I don’t have time to get a healthy lunch and snacks put together it’s because I was lazy the few days before hand and didn’t plan appropriately.
Exercise and clean eating are a way of life for me. I won’t let myself make excuses to dodge working out. I incorporate rest days into my schedule so I’m not overwhelmed and I can get things done throughout the week, but they are planned rest days, which requires some planning on my part. Instead of finding excuses to get out of working out, here are my top ten lines I have used to justify a healthy lifestyle.
Once you quit making excuses and take your health into your own hands the benefits are limitless.
