2010 was a very exciting year for me, especially in strongman. Although I did not compete as much as I have in past years, I was able to accomplish my main goal, which was to win the 105KG America’s Strongest Man. The contest ended in the most dramatic of fashion with a sudden death head to head event that I just barely edged out the competition. Moving forward from there I was scheduled to compete in the World Championship on December 20th, but due to a vicious snow storm in Europe all flights were cancelled and I was not able to attend. So even though there was a disappointing end to 2010, overall the year was a success.
2011 will be my third year as part of Team HMB. Since beginning to use HMB I have seen serious improvement in muscle recovery from both strongman and gym training sessions. This is especially helpful as I train for some milestone competitions this year.
With the Strongman Amateur World Championship approaching at the Arnold Classic, I am looking forward to the first contest of the year for me. This is what I consider the first big milestone contest. After that I am planning to compete in one of the two ASC Pro-Am contest in the 105KG division. The third milestone contest will be the 105KG America’s Strongest Man. This is the big one. I am seeking my third title and second in a row. There are some extremely hungry and strong competitors out there though. Additionally no one has ever won the title three times. Check back in to find out what I am doing in training to stay ahead of the competition and become the first 3x CHAMP!
