My results with High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) have been a phenomenal success! Since my last post I have dropped ten pounds, lost 3 inches from my waist and 2 inches from my hips. My abs have never popped like they do now and I went from hating my legs to loving them! I actually think I look better NOW than I have on any competition day! The best part of this whole thing is I have been in the gym LESS!
I have been doing three HIIT sessions a week on top of my 5 day lifting routine. I want to note though that the HIIT sessions are remarkably more taxing on your body than plain cardio. It’s a high intensity all out workout that I finish in 12 minutes. By the end of 12 minutes I’m exhausted, yet energized, and dripping sweat like I just ran 5 miles. It’s by far the best cardio workout I have put myself through.
I’m thankful for HMB and not only its recovery properties, but I think it has helped give me the stamina and ability to stay healthy this whole time. I can tell the HIIT has been taking its toll on my body so I am sure to not miss a dose of HMB. It helps me recover between those sessions and I really think it has also been a huge tool in helping me maintain all the muscle mass I spent the past year building. Losing ten pounds in 8 weeks usually means a loss of muscle mass to some degree. I’ve kept all my muscle mass and am looking at show dates for spring!
