Hard Work Ahead

Blog Article ImageI was able to take a couple weeks off after the Arnold and rest up for a very busy upcoming competition schedule. Last week I started my heavy training as I have two major competitions in the next 12 weeks and possibly a third a month later.

First up is the USAPL GNC Empire Classic Pro Deadlift Competition in Spokane, WA on May 11, 2013.  This event is part of a Pro Series of Events that the USAPL has been in the process of developing.  The Empire Classic Pro Deadlift is always an excellent show held in front of a large group of great fans! I will be competing in this event with fellow Team HMB Member, Bryan Dermody.  Bryan and I have competed in this event the previous 2 years. It is held at the Northern Quest Casino in Spokane.

Following the Empire Classic I will be traveling to Sudzal, Russia in June for the 2013 IPF Classic World Championship.  This is the inaugural Classic (RAW) World Championship for the IPF.  I have been a supporter of the RAW movement for many years, and I am very happy to have been able to stick around long enough in the sport to compete in the first IPF RAW World Championship. With the two events so close to each other I will not try to peak for the Empire Classic, but use it as a heavy training day.  This might catch up to me at the Empire, as there will be some very good pullers invited to the show, but peaking my training for the World Championship is the priority.

The USAPL RAW National Championship is being held in Orlando, Florida just 4 weeks after the IPF World Championships.  It will be the qualifying event for the 2014 IPF RAW World Championships.  At this point…. I am going to have to wait and see how I feel after my trip to Russia to determine if I am going to compete at the Nationals.

With all of the heavy training during the next 4 months I will be depending on GNC Pro Performance HMB more than ever for its great recovery benefits.

Train smart, stay healthy, set your goals high, and don't forget to add GNC Pro Performance HMB to your supplement list! Good luck in meeting your strength and fitness goals!!!
