It's a new year and I'm looking forward to the 2011 competition season and all of the opportunities throughout the year. I have been working diligently on taking care of myself since before the new year and I am stepping up the game for 2011.
I'm focusing more on practicing what I preach to my clients. As I have said in the past, I am very consistent with my training and nutrition, yet those two factors are not the only aspects of a healthy lifestyle. Getting an adequate amount of sleep every night, practicing deep breathing and/or meditation, playing sports I enjoy, and having some time for myself to do whatever I please are the other aspects I am fitting into my day.
When everything is in check, not only do I feel great throughout the day, but I can take my training to the next level. When I train more intensely, I can recover faster with the help of HMB and continue to improve. I always look to keep my physique balanced and proportionate. My main focus has been keeping the glutes and hamstrings tight. Lately, I have been training with high reps with very little rest in between sets for a very intense short workout. I like to change it up as often as possible to keep my body guessing and my physique in top notch condition.
My first show is about two months away and my excitement is building by the week. I'm in the process of getting a new suit made and keeping up on my posing practice. Come out and support me in Culver City, CA on March 26th!
