Dieting and Heavy Prep Work Begins

Blog Article ImageStarted my diet and cardio work this week.  My pre-diet weight was 229, which is 15 lbs up from last year.  I am planning on competing around 205.  The next 13 weeks will be crucial; I have done all the work over the last year, put on the size and stayed pretty lean as well.  HMB has been a huge part of my off season workout and will really come into play now.  I have noticed when taking this while I am dieting, it has been very helpful in recovery time and fatigue levels.  Over the next 13 weeks I will eat 7 things…oatmeal, chicken, rice, plain potatoes, eggs, fish and bananas.  Right now I am hovering around 12% body fat and by May 8, 2010 (day of competition) I will be around 3-4%.  This is a big meet for me; I will have two opportunities to earn my Pro Card.  So, over the next 13 weeks I will be doing cardio for 40 minutes at least 5 days per week, hitting the weights for 1.5 hours per day, and posing for 30 minutes 5 days per week.  Here we go; this is where the fun starts!
