Contest Season Approaching

Blog Article ImageThe rest of my contest season for this year consists of three contests so far. The first competition is three weeks from now at King of the Mountain 4 in Mt. Pleasant , MI. Training has been a real struggle this year due to some injuries, sickness, and work travel. The positive thing about this is I've learned a lot about training, setting realistic goals, and training as smart as I do hard.  I am really looking forward to competing. I was the Heavyweight Champion at this contest two years ago and took 4th last year.  With 6 feats of strength that will be contested it will surely be a grueling event, but with HMB on my side, I have great endurance and will be strong all the way through. So, I am ready to lay it all on the line to get back to the top of the podium and be King of the Mountain again.

In addition to this contest, I will be competing in the Cardinal Challenge in July and 105KG America's Strongest Man later this year. Hopefully I can add another one or two contests on top of these as well.

Although training has been a struggle, I have had some positive lifts and sets. Some of the highlights are:
750lb yoke carry with great speed
325lb farmers carry on 2" thick handles.

For training, I will be focusing a lot on improving my powerlifts over the next few months. HMB has been great helping increase and retaining my strength this year despite some set-backs. It is time to make some more big gains!
